Death toll hits 6,260
KATHMANDU: The death toll from the April 25 earthquake has reached 6,260 and is still rising, said the National Emergency Operation Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs. At least 14,446 people were injured due to the massive quake measuring 7.6 on Richter scale. The latest statistics of the NEOC states that as many as 329,119 buildings, both public and privates, were destroyed or damaged. Nepal Police said 6,041 bodies have been handed over to the concerned families after fulfilling legal requirements.
