KATHMANDU: Central committee (CC) members of the UCPN-Maoist Monday began commenting on the political document presented by party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The CC members got their turn to comment on the political document after leaders of 14 groups, formed on the first day, concluded commenting on the document Monday.

According to party sources, a central committee member questioned why the Prachandapath, the party ideology propounded by Prachanda, was not brought into discussion.

Six CC members — Kaman Singh Lama, Nanda Kumar Prasai, Kali Bahadur Malla, Harsa Bahadur Shahi, Bhakta Bahadur Shah and Mahendra Paswan — aired their views on the political document in today’s meeting. Twenty-six CC members have registered their names to comment on the document.

Lama expressed concern over the party’s decision to add two more federal states. Shiva Raj Gautam, advisor of the party, raised concern over the lack of concrete policy for peasants. He also urged the party to properly deal the demands to return property seized during the insurgency.
