Demand to declare Nepal a Hindu state
Khotang, February 19
Rastriya Prajatantra Party Khotang has demanded that the country be declared a Hindu state.
The party sent a memorandum to the prime minister through Khotang District Administration Office today, demanded that the country be declared a Hindu state with complete religious freedom by revoking the constitutional provision of secularism.
Further, the party has sought government action to stop the practice of forceful conversion and closure of non-government organisations involved
in such activities.
Similarly, other demands of the party include a round table conference inclusive of the monarchy and all political parties, a referendum on federalism and action against forces against national unity.
“Among our 22-point demand are demands to investigate various corruption cases related to the aircraft purchase deal, Ncell tax scam and 33kg gold smuggling case and to stop increasing prices, control black marketing and investigate the property of high-ranking government employees who have landed posts after the restoration of democracy in 1990,” said RPP Khotang Chairperson Jivan Shrestha.
