The dengue outbreak has been increasing significantly in Tanahun district. With this, the number of people infected with dengue is on the rise.
Even in the midst of continuous rainfall and weather changes for the past three days, the number of dengue cases hasn't decreased. Currently, five people have lost their lives to dengue in the district.
A total of 5,310 people have been infected with dengue fever in the district.
The health office in Tanahun confirmed that there are 5,310 patients who tested positive for dengue infection in the district. Chief of Health Office Shankar Babu Adhikari reported that the number of dengue cases had been increasing in Tanahun. He mentioned that dengue control measures had not been effective so far.
In Byas Municipality, 494 dengue-infected patients have been reported. In Bhanu Municipality, there are 71 cases and in Bhimad Municipality, there are 153 cases of dengue. There are 75 cases of dengue infection in Myagdi Rural Municipality, 35 cases in Bandipur Rural Municipality and 142 cases in Rishing Rural Municipality.
Similarly, Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality has 39 cases, Ghiring Rural Municipality has 8 cases and Devghat Rural Municipality has 9 dengue cases.
As the number of patients infected with dengue is increasing in Tanahun, efforts to inspect households and raise awareness have been intensified.
Damauli Hospital Chief Paribartan Baral said health workers were conducting door-to-door checks and awareness programmes to combat the dengue epidemic.
