Denial of curfew pass to media flayed
Kathmandu:
The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) on Sunday said the government has prevented journalists from collecting news by denying curfew passes to vehicles of the media houses. A statement issued by its president Bishnu Nisthuri also appealed to journalists to involve in their work without fearing the government suppression. The government has arrested a number of journalists throughout the nation and has snapped mobile phone services and is trying to ‘use’ the media, he said.
The Reporters’ Club, the NBA, the CPN-UML and the NSP (Anandidevi) also flayed the denial of passes to media.
