A group people thrashed Deputy Mayor Nasima Khatun of -Pachrauta Municipality in Bara yesterday.

The group thrashed Khatun and her family, including her husband at 8:00pm yesterday. The group reached Khathu's Bairiya-based house and thrashed the family members including Khatun's husband Newaji Ansari.The injured are receiving treatment in Gandak-based Neuro Hospital and Kalaiya-based Provincial Hospital.

Locals said that Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal cadres, including Pachrauta Municipality Ward-2 Chairman Manoj Yadav reached Khatun's house and thrashed the family members. They said the group also looted Khatun's house.

Nepal Police and Armed Police team reached the house immediately after the incident. They found cupboards, boxes, among other materials thrown around at Khatun's house. Locals said the group had attacked Khatun's house but the complaint was not registered with police.

Bara Police SP Hobindra Bogati said as soon as his office was informed about the incident a police team was deployed.

SP Bogati said that JSP-N cadres had attacked the deputy mayor's house over old issues.

He added that people from both the sides were injured in the clash. The injured are receiving treatment and the situation is normal, said police. Bogati added that he was collecting information and police had been deployed to the incident site.
