Despite minor hiccups, SLC examinations being held peacefully

The second day of the ongoing School Leaving Certificate examinations passed off peacefully, except for a few minor incidents in Khotang today.

One of the examinees, who attended the first day’s English paper, died on last night in the district. The deceased has been identified as Tulasa Majhi of Batase-4, Bhangdareghat of the district, according to District Education Officer Min Bahadur Thapa. Majhi was a student of Shanti HS School and had his exam centre at Mahendrodaya HS School.

According to Deepak Poudel, a local teacher, he had appeared in his exam under the influence of illegal drugs.

As many as 93 examinees, including 20 examinees from Bakharighat centre, 35 from Durga HS School, Manara, and 38 from Khakhanalotana exam centre, were expelled on the charge of violating exam code of conduct, the DEO informed. However, they will be allowed to sit for their examinations from Sunday.

Similarly, District Administration Office, Mahottari, today filed a case against two invigilators, who were found violating the examination code of conduct yesterday. They are Birendra Kumar Yadav and Santosh Kumar Sah.

Likewise, a bogus examinee was held from Bramha Jyoti HS School exam centre today. He has been identified as Manejar Ray Yadav, who was sitting for the exam in place of Saroj Kumar Yadav of Kopawa Pipariya. As many as 102 examinees remained absent on the second day of the SLC examinations in Dhading district today.
