Deuba wants unification issue expedited
Kathmandu, May 29:
President of the Nepali Congress (Democratic) and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the unification of the two factions of the Nepali Congress should be held as soon as possible.
Talking to media persons at the Tribhuvan International Airport after returning home on completion of a six-day visit to China, he said it was his stated view that the unification of the two Nepali Congresses should take place as soon as possible in the event of the Constituent Assembly election scheduled to be held in November.
He said he was positive on the topic of party unification and that the topics of the past was non-significant for him. He added that the unification of the party should start from the bottom rung of the party.
Responding to a query, Deuba stressed on the need for the CPN (Maoist) and the Young Communist League (YCL) to give up violence. He reiterated that the YCL should improve its behaviour.
He also stressed on a robust law and order situation for a free and fair election of the Constituent Assembly election.
