MALEKHU, DHADING: A CPN-UML cadre was beaten to death at Pipalbhanjyang of Jogimara in Rorang Rural Municipality-9 in Dhading district on Sunday night.

According to the Dhading District Police Office, Chepang was beaten to death with a stick inside an under-construction building before his body was covered with a tarpaulin and zinc sheet.

Police also recovered a blood-stained stick beside the body.

The brother of the deceased Lal Bahadur Chepang said that he and his brother had received death threats saying that they would be killed if they did not cast vote. However, they killed him after he cast his ballot.

Further investigation is underway and the search is on for the murderers, said police.
