DHADING, NOVEMBER 16

The effects of the Nepal Banda called by the Communist Party of Nepal demanding that the government reverse its decision to raise the price of petroleum products, was observed in and around Dhading district today.

Both Prithvi Highway and Tribhuvan Highway in the district, that link 69 districts to the capital, have essentially little to no automobile traffic.

Since early morning, the district's market areas have been subdued with plenty of security officers posted in all chowks and sensitive areas.

Although no enforcers of the shutdown have been spotted at the Dhadingbesi district headquarters, most of the stores remain shut.

Similarly, majority of the district's schools have been closed in a bid to avert any untoward situation.
