Dhangadhi airport closed for a month from today

KAILALI: Dhangadhi airport has been closed for a month to carry out maintenance work on the runway.

According to Dhangadhi Airport Chief Tej Bahadur Bud Thapa, in order to repair the 1,800-metre long runway, the airport has been closed for a month from today, from May 5 until June 4.

Along with the maintenance work, the parking area will be expanded, Thapa shared.

After completion of the project, two-metre width will be added on both sides of the existing 60 metres wide and 1,800 metres long runway and will accommodate four aircrafts in its parking area.

Likewise, the project is also planning to upgrade its approach lights, communication sets and other infrastructure of the airport.

The project is estimated to cost around Rs 220 million.
