Dhangadhi bandh hits life hard

Dipayal, July 15:

Life in the far western region was crippled for the fourth day in a row today due to the ongoing strike in Dhangadhi, the centre of economic activities in the region, organised by the traders.

Today was the fourth day of the Dhangadhi bandh called by Kailali Chambers of Commerce and Industry, demanding an end to the syndicate system of truck entrepreneurs. The strike has created shortage of essentials in seven districts including Doti, Dadeldhura, Bajura, Bajhang, Achham as trucks have not been allowed to supply goods there. A businessman of Dipayal, Dhan Bahadur Shahi, said, "Shortage of essentials has surfaced after traders and consumers here have started hoarding goods." Vegetable farmers in Dadeldhura are also having hard times selling their produce after they failed to transport the goods.
