Dhangadi State Police Office inaugurates sniffer dogs centre
DHANGADI: The Provincial Police Office of Province 7 on Thursday inaugurated sniffer dog centre in the district for investigation into criminal cases.
The police have used the sniffer dogs to catch criminals and search for explosive devices, said Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police Madhav Nepal.
The centre was inaugurated by AIG Nepal in Dhangadhi today. "The branch has the capacity of six dogs, but at present, there are only four dogs in the branch," said police.
The centre has a male Labrador, Raja and a female German Sheppard, capable of sniffing out explosive devices.
Likewise, another male Labrador, Fuchche is expert in sniffing out illegal drugs, whereas a female German Sheppard, Tufan helps the police to track down suspects or lost persons.
Special accommodations have been made for the sniffer dogs in the branch. A police dog trainer has been hired to train the dogs.
