Diarrhoea outbreak grips Saptari village

RAJBIRAJ: A diarrhoea epidemic has gripped the Jamuni Madhepura VDC-2 in Saptari for the past few days. So far, around 60 people of 25 families in the village have been taken seriously ill.

The family of a local Shankar Sharma was the first victim of the disease that emerged three days ago and later spread to the entire village, according to health officials of the district.

Children and senior citizens have been mostly affected by the disease, the District Public Health Office, Saptari said.

The Office said that it has already deputed a medical team to the affected village.
