Diarrhoeal outbreak in Gorkha VDC
GORKHA: Four wards of Lapu village development committee in Gorkha have been struck by a diarrhoeal epidemic for the last five days.
More than 20 people in Wards No 5, 7, 8 and 9 have been suffering from the disease.
In the lack of measures to tame the outbreak, the number of patients has been rising, said local Tek Bahadur Gurung.
The patients had complained of high fever, headache and abdominal swelling before contracting the ailment.
Meanwhile, Dr Anil Shrestha at Gorkha Hospital said they had no idea about the outbreak.
Locals said the sub-health post in the village was not attended to by any health worker, aggravating the situation further.
Some 300 households lie in the affected area.
