DHULIKHEL: A disabled woman was raped while she was searching for a room to rent in Dhulikhel on Wednesday night.

A person of Bengali background, who has been running a fruit shop in the area, raped the disabled lady aged 25 with the help of Tilak Kumar Manandhar of Dapcha. The lady (name not disclosed) is a resident of Katunje VDC in Kavre district.

Manandhar had taken the victim to the fruit vendor’s room after she had requested him to help her find a room.

The victim said that the two had started to drink as she had turned down the offer for one.

“The fruit vendor raped me after Manandhar left the room and locked us from the outside,” recalled the victim.

She also filed a complaint at Banepa Area Police Office demanding action against the guilty.
