Dilpidated school infrastructure razed by Monsoon downpour in Dolpa

DUNAI, DOLPA: The incessant downpour for the past one week has triggered the collapse of basic but dilapidated infrastructures of a school disrupting regular classes in Dolpa district.

The stairs, walls and playing ground of the Rara Lower Secondary School in Okta area of Mudkechulagaun Rural Municipality-8 collapsed in the monsoon downpour, according to Principal Lankaman Rokaya.

The external structure of the school buildings have been damaged which has caused problems for students.

Moreover, the school is not able to organise any event at the playing field as well. As the rainfall continues intermittently, the school administration is facing the risk of the classrooms' walls giving way. At present, there are a total of 306 students studying at the school.
