Dipayal Airport starts tarmacking its runway

DOTI: The Dipayal Airport, which had been a cow grazing site for the past 10 years, has begun tarmacking its runway to complete the task within next 15 months.

The blacktopping of runway has advanced with the signing of the contract with the bid winner, said Senior Officer at Civil Aviation Authority, Bal Krishna Regmi.

It requires a considerable quantity of pebbles for the blacktopping of the 450-metre long airport. Meanwhile, the task of fitting crusher for the same has been carried out, officer Regmi informed and further shared that the task would gain momentum with all the preparations in place.

The upgrading of the airport would cost an estimated Rs 55 million, said the officer.
