Disabled-friendly trekking route constructed in Kaski

Pokhara, March 31

A trekking route targeting differently-abled tourists came into operation in Kaski’s Annapurna Rural Municipality-1 today.

The 1.3-km trekking route was constructed with financial support from Nepal Tourism Board. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari inaugurated the route today.

Minister Adhikari said that strong desire inherent in the physically-challenged people made them as capable as normal people. Tourists with physical disability had trekked from Bhumekothan to Himalayan Deurali Resort on wheelchair.

NTB CEO Dipakraj Joshi said the trekking route targeting differently-abled people would send positive message to the international community. New Trekking Route Construction and Protection Committee chair Bishnu Sharma said that they would construct disabled-friendly toilets along the route.
