KATHMANDU: Jana Morcha Nepal (JMN) general secretary Navaraj Subedi said on Saturday his party was in favour of gradually bringing the strength of army down to zero over time in keeping with the need to save resources for other priorities. He, however, said the disbandment should take place after inking a non-aggression pact with India and China.

He said it was the opinion of the party that resources that are going towards army’s maintenance of the army should be diverted. “We want the strength of the army brought down to zero. If Costa Ricans can take such a decision, why cannot we?” Subedi asked at a function.
