Disgruntled CPN-MC aspirant stages sit-in demanding ticket

Damauli, October 31

Demanding that the candidate from the CPN-MC should be provided ticket to contest the upcoming parliamentary polls under the first-past the-post system from Constituency 1 of Tanahun, CPN-MC central member Rajendra Keshari Neupane staged a sit-in from yesterday.

Neupane staged the sit-in at the party office in Damauli from 8:00am. The left alliance of the CPN-UML and CPN-MC had decided to give tickets to UML candidates for both constituencies of the district. “As the UML candidate was given the ticket to contest polls in Constituency No 2 earlier, the candidate of Constituency No 1 for the parliamentary election should be from CPN-MC. I will continue the sit-in until November 2, the last day of filing nominations. I want this decision revoked,” said Neupane, who is the district coordinator of the party. State Minister without portfolio Asha Koirala and other district level leaders of the party met Neupane and expressed solidarity with the sit-in protest today.
