Disgruntled party cadres to contest independently

Dhangadi, November 4

Disgruntled cadres of major political parties have filed their candidacies against the renowned leaders of their own parties for the upcoming provincial and parliamentary polls slated for December 7 in Kanchanpur.

The Nepali Congress cadres have filed their candidacies against Ramesh Lekhak and NP Saud. Prem Bahadur Bista filed the candidacy as an independent candidate against Lekhak in Constituency No 2 while Siddharaj Bhatta has filed the candidacy against Saud in Constituency No 3. The rival candidates said that they had filed their candidacies as the party distributed tickets in an unfair manner.

Bista was recommended for the parliamentary election from Constituency No 3 earlier. Bhatta had resigned from his teaching profession some time ago and joined politics. His move to go against the party's decision has surprised cadres. He was recommended as the provincial candidate from the party. Bhatta said that distribution of the ticket was not fair. NC cadres have also filed candidacy from Constituency No 3 Kha. Tula Ram Shahu has filed the candidacy against Bahadur Singh Thapa from the constituency.
