Doctor blamed for minor’s death

Relatives and family members today said that Rohit Pariyar, 2, died due to doctor’s negligence at Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara. They demanded that the local administration make the reasons for the child’s death public.
Rohit of Parsyang, Pokhara, died while undergoing treatment at Western Regional Hospital five days ago. The minor’s grandmother Maya said the minor was admitted to the hospital after he suffered from fever seven days ago.
Organising a press meet, the struggle committee formed by the victim’s relatives and family members today, demanded stern action against the guilty. The victim’s family members and relatives have been launching a sit-in in front of the hospital for the past four days. Talks are under way between the hospital administration and the victim’s family members and relatives to find a solution.
Struggle Committee Coordinator Shiv Pariyar said that they had put a charter of demands including action against the guilty.
The struggle committee submitted an application to Kaski CDO Taranath Adhikari to bring out the truth. CDO Adhikari assured the agitating people he would probe the incident. Family members have refused to accept the body until the truth is unearthed.
Chief Shree Krishna Shrestha at the Department of Pediatrics refuted the allegation and said there was no negligence on the part of doctors.
