Donation of over Rs 4mln to Lamjung orphanage
BESISAHAR: A woman has donated four million rupees in cash for the operation of an orphanage in Besisahar of Lamjung district on Sunday.
Sanumaya Gurung, Chairperson of Adarsha Women and Child Development Centre, provided the cash to establish a revolving fund for the support of the children's home initiated by the organisation. The donation was made amidst a programme organised by the organisation's Founding Chairman Lekhnath Adhikari, on its fifth annual memorial day.
Gurung said that she donated the cash to ensure children's right to life and education. “No children should be deprived of their rights. The orphanage should support the livelihood and education of the children," expressed Gurung.
Likewise, Pokhara-based Radha Devi Ghale of Gilung, Parvati Shrestha of Besisahar, and Pokhara-based Vartaamaya Ghale of Usta also made a donation of Rs 10,000 each.
