Dr Buddhi Bahadur Thapa, four other physicians receive FRCP award

POKHARA: Dr Buddhi Bahadur Thapa, along with four other physicians, has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP) amid a special programme, in Kathmandu, on Saturday.

On the occasion of the 14th international conference of Society of Internal Medicine of Nepal (SIMON), umbrella organisations of physicians in Nepal, Dr Derek Bell, professor at the Royal College, England, honoured physicians with the award.

Dr Buddhi Bahadur Thapa, Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, Dr Yadav Bhatta, senior cardiologist at Norvic Hospital, Dr Neeraj Joshi, gastroenterologist at Nidan Hospital and Nepal Cancer Hospital, Dr Rabindra Shrestha, neurologist at Kathmandu Medical College and Dr Sheetal Adhikari, professor at Chitwan Medical College were honoured with the prestigious award.

More than five hundred doctors from various countries including the UK, US, Italy, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal had participated in the three-day conference in Kathmandu.

The event was organised in coordination with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the United Kingdom.

FRCP in Medicine is an accolade held by some of the most exceptional and innovative physicians in the world.
