Health Rights and Tobacco Control District Network, Khotang, will take initiatives to make public places and government offices smoking-prohibited zones.

The network decided to launch the campaign with the main objective of minimising the deadly effect of smoking and tobacco consumption at public places and government offices. They were encouraged to launch these initiatives in other places after achieving success in Rupakot Majhuwagadi Municipality.

Network Secretary Ramesh Pokhrel said they took the decision to ban smoking and tobacco consumption at public places and government offices keeping in mind the adverse effect on human health.
