Kathmandu, July 11:

The Armed Police Force (APF) Headquarters today directed the Tripura Battalion at Kohalpur

to investigate into the alleged involvement of a deputy superintendent of the Armed Police Force Top Bahadur Khanal in thrashing some locals of the Satungal area.

According to the headquarters of the Armed Police Force a group of six persons, including

DSP Khanal, were on a dry picnic at Satungal in Kathmandu when some locals, who were

meditating at a meditation centre, tried to note down the registration number of the motorcycle of Khanal’s elder brother.

“As Khanal’s elder brother asked them why they did so, a fight broke out between the locals and the group which later took a nasty turn,” a police official at the Balambu Police Station said.

According to the police, half-a-dozen people, including women, were injured in the clash between the locals and the group. Three members of the gang are on the run, the police added.

“Khanal, who works in the Tripura Battalion at Kohalpur, was on leave for a few days,” the headquarters of the Armed Police Force said.
