Earthquake measuring ML 5.0 hits Dhading

KATHMANDU: An earthquake measuring 5.0 in the Richter scale struck Dhading at 2:08 this afternoon with Kumpur as its epicentre.

According to National Seismological Centre, Lainchaur, the co-ordinates of the epicentre are 27.85 (latitude), 84.87 (longitude). National Emergency Operation Centre confirmed the tremor in a tweet:

धादिङको कुम्पुर केन्द्र बनाएर Ml 5.0 को भुकम्प अहिले १४:०८ मा गएको राष्ट्रिय भुकम्प मापन केन्द्रले जनाएको छ । कुनै क्षति भएको जानकारी आएको छैन ।

No damages have been reported so far.

Earlier, on April 24, three tremors had been felt in Kathmandu valley. The National Seismological Centre had recorded two back-to-back tremors of local magnitude 5.2 and 4.3 at 6:29 am and 6:40 am respectively, also in Dhading district.

On the same day, a third tremor had been felt. An earthquake of local magnitude 3.9 originated at Naubise, Dhading and shook the adjoining areas at 3:05 pm.
