KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5
The Election Commission (EC) has called on political parties wishing to contest the proportional representation (PR) category for the March 5 House of Representatives election to submit their applications between December 7 and 9, from 10 am to 4 pm.
The EC has set up an Election Officer's Office at its Kantipath headquarters, with Secretary Mahadev Pantha designated as election officer. A list of applicant parties will be published on December 10.
Parties applying for the PR category must submit their closed lists of candidates on December 28 and 29.
Under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category, nominations will be registered on January 20, with the candidate list published the same day. Complaints can be filed on January 21, and the final name list - along with election symbols - will be published on January 23.
Preparations are also underway for the National Assembly election scheduled for January 25, the EC said.
