KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 27
The Election Commission (EC) has stated that all preparations for the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5 have been completed.
The EC shared this information during its weekly press briefing on Friday.
EC Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that ballot papers, ballot boxes, and other essential election materials have already been transported to all 77 districts.
Similarly, voter education programmes are currently underway in all 6,743 wards across 753 local levels. These programmes, facilitated by volunteers, are scheduled to conclude on February 29. Meanwhile, employees and security personnel assigned to election duties have begun departing for their respective polling stations.
The government and local levels have already been requested to facilitate the provision of suitable venues for establishing polling centres, which will be set up at schools, health institutions, and ward offices.
The EC has also taken necessary decisions regarding election security, the operation of essential services, and the facilitation, coordination, and management of election and voting procedures.
