BIRATNAGAR: Teachers on Monday called an education bandh in the east demanding that a person who had tried to shoot at Laxmi Anchhao, a teacher, be taken into custody.

The teachers accused the YCL of attempting to murder Anchhao, a central member of UCPN-Maoist Nepal Teachers Association.

They have warned that if no action is taken against the accused they would call an indefinite bandh in the education sector.

All community and private schools are closed due to the bandh.
