Kathmandu, June 24:
The 13-member special taskforce formed a few weeks ago to find a way out of the indefinite educational strike called by the Maoist students has been revived with the view to addressing other problems faced by the education sector. Sudip Pathak, member secretary of the taskforce, said the panel was revived today after constant pressure from the stakeholders of the society to address the problems in the education sector. Members of the civil society had formed the 13-member taskforce, including representatives from various organisations, on June 12 to find a way out of the indefinite educational strike called by the pro-Maoist students. On June18, after the Maoist students called off the strike after the government assured them of removing the terrorist tag on them and addressing other educational demands through dialogue, the panel had become defunct.
