Education to be based on international curriculum: Chief Minister Rai
BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Province 1, Sherdhan Rai, has said efforts would be carried out to ensure competitive education based on the international curriculum so that it would help achieve prosperity in the country.
He informed that as many as 100 community schools of the province would provide education on science and technology.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the two-day provincial science and technology youth conference 2019 organised by the National Youth Council. Technology is the foundation for the country's economic development and people's prosperity, he asserted.
According to him, a bill relating to the establishment of a university of technology in the province was already tabled in the parliament. Human resources with capacity and skills would be highly valued, the Chief Minister underscored.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman of the Policy and Planning Commission in the province, Subodhraj Pyakurel, said science and technology could be used for prosperity taking environment into account.
Council's Vice Chairman Madhav Dhungel demanded that laboratories in the universities could be upgraded. The conclusion of the conference could be helpful for the policy and planning in the province, he added.
