Eid-ul-Fitr marked across the nation

Muslims celebrated their great festival Eid-ul-Fitr in every village of Mahottari district today. The Ramadan, the holy month of day-long fasting and sun down feasting, concluded today with Eid-ul-Fitr. After worshipping the moon last night, Muslims celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr today.
On the occasion of the festival, they organised different programmes like religious speeches and cultural performances.
Beggars and underprivileged people were distributed with food in Matihani, Parsadewad, Samsi, Laxminiyan, Bairagiya, Bisabitti, Sonama, Loharpatti, Dhamaura, Sarapallo and Bhangaha VDCs and other places including district headquarters Jaleshwor.
The festival has been celebrated also in Nepalgunj. Muslims read Nawaj and exchanged greetings at the mosques. On the occasion, a feast was organised by Nepal Muslim Youth Society (NMYS). There are over 30,000 Muslims in Nepalgunj.
In Kathmandu, too, the festival was celebrated with gusto. This year, each able Muslim was called to donate Rs 35 so that the underprivileged Muslims could also celebrate the festival.
Similarly, the festival was celebrated in Bara also. A large number of Muslims offered prayers in mosques. Nearly 115,000 Muslims reside in Bara.
