Eight Chand-led CPN cadres arrested

Jhapa, September 18

Police made the arrested eight cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal public at a press meet organised in District Police Office, Jhapa, today.

The arrested have been identified as Jhapa District Secretary Prabin Mishra, 34, of Mangsebung Rural Municipality, Ilam, district secretary Tika Pokhrel, 44, of Haldibari Rural Municipality and Anulsaru Magar, 26, of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality, Makawanpur.

SP Dinesh Raj Mainali said the police team arrested the trio from a rented house in Birtamod on Monday. He said police had seized two pistols, some bullets and donation bills.

DSP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha said primary investigation had revealed that the trio was involved in detonating bombs in various places of Birtamod and Gauradaha on September 8.

Similarly, Panchthar district In-charge Raju Das, 27, Taplejung district In-charge Sagar Limbu, 35, central member Ganesh Karki, 24, Taplejung district Secretary Narapati Poudel, 55, Taplejung district member Yam Bahadur Limbu, 33, were arrested earlierĀ  for their involvement in detonating the bomb in ward office.
