Eight hurt in accident

BAGLUNG: At least eight passengers were injured in a jeep accident that took place at Argal VDC of the district on Sunday morning. Five among the injured are in critical condition, police said. The jeep en route to Argal village from Shile met with the accident at Pastakul ridge in Argal. According to constable at the Tara Area Police Office Tej Bahadur Bhujel, the jeep veered off the road and fell around 200 metres below. The critically injured in the accident are Hari Roka, 37, Karna Bahadur Roka, 40, Bal Bahadur Roka, 50, Prem Gharty, 36,and jeep driver Nikhil KC, 31, of Argal. Those who sustained minor injury are: Biru Roka, 72, Thaman Gharty, 36, and Manu, 22, of Argal, police said. Police have speculated that the jeep might have slipped off the road after its brakes failed. The critically injured are currently undergoing treatment at Dhawalagiri Zonal Hospital, Baglung.
