Eight mountain flights operated in a single day

KATHMANDU: Attraction towards mountain flights is quite evident soon after their resumption following a long gap. A total of eight mountain flights — five of Buddha Air and three of Yeti Airlines — were made on Saturday.

The mountain flights are conducted at 7:00 am from Tribhuvan International Airport to various sites every Saturday. They had been halted for about nine months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The passengers are delighted to see the scenic views of mountains including Mt Everest, the highest peak of the world. According to sources, foreign and domestic tourists are taking the mountain flights as airline companies have offered a discount on airfare lately.

A total of 300 passengers flew in Buddha Air for Mt Everest sites. The airlines shared that it was planning to extend the mountain flights to other days as well.

Likewise, Yeti Airlines has also planned to schedule the flights twice a week. The airlines will make two flights on Sunday, according to Yeti Airlines Spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula.
