Eight parties conspiring to save monarchy: Sahana

Biratnagar, April 29:

Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan today alleged that the eight parties themselves are involved in a conspiracy to give continuity to the monarchy.

“The people will be disappointed if the conspiracy is not thwarted at the earliest,” Pradhan said.

Speaking at a function organised to mark the golden jubilee of Machchhindra higher secondary school at Kerabari, Morang, she said that the NC was more active in trying to give continuity to the monarchy. Emphasising the need for a joint effort to fight against attempts to protect the king, Pradhan said there was no alternative to a democratic republic.

She said confusions on several issues have marred the interim government and the eight party alliance and that they should be ended at the earliest.

“The king could deliver a message on the Democracy Day because there was lack of unity among the members of the eight party alliance. The parties are heading towards different directions giving ample space for the king to take advantage again,” she cautioned.

Maoist have proved that they have not changed their behaviour because they have continued with acts of threatening and abduction and have not returned the property they have seized.
