Siraha, January 2

Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Rajbiraj, today sealed eight bottled water processing plants for failing to meet the basic standards and criteria, in Siraha.

According to the chief at the Food Technology and Quality Control Office Suresh Kumar Singh, representatives from Food and Quality Control Office, Rajbiraj; Domestic Industry Office, Lahan; and Consumers’ Welfare Protection Manch, Siraha, had sealed the bottled water processing plants as they did not meet the set standards during inspection.

The sealed water plants comprise Lahan-based Sita Mineral Water Factory, Dhalkot Mata Mineral Water Industry, Karjanha-based Mithila Water Processing Industry, Golbazaar-based Indira Water, Anad Jal, Kamalmai Water Industry, and Sita Heldi Cooling Water Industry.

The sealed industries had failed to meet even the basic and minimum sanitation standards. “Some water industries have not met basic standards while others have not even maintained minimum hygiene,” Singh added.
