The eighth edition of the Summer Ski Festival is taking place on February 10-18.
To be organized in the Mardi Mountain region by the Sustainable Himalayan Fund, the week-long festival primarily aims to develop and promote ski tourism in Nepal, said Prabhat Adhikari, member of the Fund, adding that perpetrations for the celebration were underway. Krishna Thapa Magar will coach and coordinate the festival, which has been named as Great Himalayan Ski Visit.
Estimated Rs 1.6 million will be spent for the celebration and Rs 220,000 has been allocated to insure participants each, he said.
Earlier, the festival took place in tourist destinations, Manaslu and Kalinchowk.
