SURUNGA: A 60-year-old man was killed in an attack by a wild elephant at Bahundangi VDC-2 in Jhapa district this morning.

The victim has been identified as local Manahari Dhungel.

Dhungel was charged by the tusked animal while he was collecting fodders in a nearby tea estate.

Similarly, another villager identified as Lal Bahadur Pradhan (62) sustained injuries on his right hand in the wild beast's attack, police said.
