RAUTAHAT: A group of locals thrashed 60-year-old Marchiyadevi Teli of Dewahi VDC-1 accusing her of practicing witchery. She was accused of making her neighbour Pramala Teli ill. Pramila the daughter of Meghu Shah Teli has been suffering from fever for last one week.

According to Marchiyadevi, locals including Budhan Shah, Kapurchan Shah, Raj Kishor Shah and Sanjeev thrashed her. She said, “They thrashed me, my son and my daughter in law by tethering us in a pole.”

Informing that she has filed case against the assailants at Area Police Office Garuda on Tuesday, she demanded stern action against them.
