KATHMANDU: An elderly woman died after being hit by a bus in Jitpur, Banganga-1 in Kapilvastu district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Pokharel (63), a local of the Jitpur.

Critically injured in the incident, Pokharel breathed her last during the course of treatment at the United Hospital, Jitpur.

She was hit by the bus (Ga 1 Kha 3862) at around 6:30 pm yesterday.

The Area Police Office, Pipara has impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for further investigation.
