Election code not problem for government: PM
BIRATNAGAR: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said the government is not facing any difficulties due to the election code.
Speaking to journalists at the Biratnagar airport this morning, PM Deuba said the government would resolve any difficulties seen in its undertakings with consent of the Election Commission (EC).
Stating that the government has not violated any codes enforced by the EC, PM Deuba added, "The government is committed to complying with the code of conduct."
Responding to journalists' question over Constitution amendment, the PM said the country's constitution is working and that the possibilities of amendment after elections remained high.
The PM also said an investigation is underway regarding the alleged irregularities in Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)'s land purchase scandal.
PM Deuba, who is also Nepali Congress President, said the party would soon appoint a vice president as per its statute. He also said the Cabinet's expansion was carried out as it was necessary. PM Deuba has left for Saptari district from Biratnagar.
