Election Commission warns against poll code violation

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission on Thursday urged all stakeholders to comply with the election codes issued in the run-up to the local level elections scheduled for May 14.

Issuing a press statement today, the Commission drew the attention of ministries, government agencies, political parties and other organisations for strict compliance with the codes.

The constitutional body categorically reminded that four documents including the 19-point instruction for the May 14 elections, the Election Code of Conduct, the Local Level Election Code of Conduct and the four-point instructions on security arrangements came into effect on March 1.

It warned that action would be taken as per the law if anyone was found violating the codes.
