Election fever grips Bhojpur

Bhojpur, June 6

Election fever has gripped Bhojpur as all the political parties, election office and officers are busy preparing for the second phase of civic polls slated for June 28.

Election-related activities have picked up at Bhojpur Municipality, Shadananda Municipality and the seven rural municipalities of the district.

Party leaders and their candidates have focused their energy in villages to win the hearts and minds of voters. All parties have expedited publicity work. Locals too are excited at the prospects of electing their representatives.

The Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Centre and the Federal Socialist Forum have forged electoral alliance.

UML has stated that it will contest the polls on its own.

District Security Committee Bhojpur has deployed personnel of Nepal police, Armed Police Force and temporary police personnel to ensure security in every village.

Chief of Bhojpur Election Office Kebal Prasad Regmi said preparation was in full swing for the second phase of the polls. Bhojpur has as many as 105,554 voters.
