District Election Office, Tanahun, has been operating without accountant for the past eight months.

The election office has been without accountant ever since then accountant Padam Bahadur Thapa was transferred to Ichhakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan eight months ago.

District Election Officer Mahesh Sharma said his office was without accountant since Thapa was transferred to the rural municipality in Chitwan.

Lack of accountant has hit regular activities at the office. Employees at the office are forced to seek assistance from the Office of Treasury and Comptroller for their salary.

Accounts officer Sudip Pokhrel from the district treasury and comptroller office has been distributing salary to staffers of the District Election Office, Tanahun.
