Emblazon ‘Limbuwan Nepal’ or face consequences: FLPN

Phidim, August 15

At a time when the issue of federalism has created much debate in the country, a Limbuwan organisation in Panchthar has told all the offices, organisations and business firms here to emblazon ‘Limbuwan Nepal’ in their signboards, billboards and vehicles.

Federal Limbuwan Party Nepal has asked each and every office and organisation in the district to follow their bidding in writing.

The letter endorsed by FLPN district secretary Sagar Kerung has also served a deadline of August 24 for the same and threatened all those failing to comply that they will be responsible for the consequences.

We urge everyone to cooperate with us by emblazoning ‘Limbuwan Nepal’ in the signboards, billboards and on vehicles honouring and keeping in view the historic background of the nine districts east of Arun River. Anyone failing to oblige us will have to take responsibility for the damage the non-compliance might result in, reads the letter.

Most government offices in the district have acknowledged that they have received letters to this effect.

FLPN secretariat member Deepak Khanal clarified the campaign was a part of the ongoing agitation for a separate Limbuwan Province.
