SINJA: A huge loss of property has incurred due to fire that broke out Khada village in Palata Rural Municipality-1 of Kalikot district on Sunday midnight.

The fire that occurred in Neupane settlement has not yet come under control. It has been reported that the inferno has so far destroyed all 30 houses of the settlement.

As roofs of almost all houses in the settlement are made up of hay and straw, the fire damaged the properties in no time. However, the fire-triggered damage is yet to be assessed.

A joint team of police personnel have been deployed from Area Police Office (APO), Thirpu and Jarkot Police Post based in Pachaljharana Rural Municipality to control the blaze.

According to Chief District Officer Chandra Bahadur Karki, it will take some time to ascertain details of losses incurred in the incident since it took four hours for the police team to reach there.

It has also been learned that there is no telephone communications in the area since last night.
