Envoy hosts reception
Kathmandu, Sept 21:
Indian ambassador Rakesh Sood today hosted a reception for Nepali participants of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme, popularly known as ITEC, at India House. ITEC was launched in 1954 as a bilateral programme of assistance by the Government of India, which spends about Rs 500 million annually on ITEC activities, the embassy said in a press release.
More than 100 Nepalis of various official and professional calls, who have been benefited by participating in ITEC programme, attended the reception which is held on September 15 to mark the ITEC Day. ITEC is about cooperation and partnership for mutual benefit. It is response-oriented and it addresses the needs of developing countries.
